Inherent advantages of asbestos :

It is being indicated that some of the Asbestos Industry leaders (past / present) may themselves be having some vested interests in getting asbestos Industry restricted. 

1.    As they would have to face less competition because new entrants would be restricted!

2.    Some of them may be expecting High Government compensations on closure!

3.    Some are / may be wanting to be enter into Non Asbestos Cement??  !!!

If Asbestos safe usage is restricted:

1.  Governments will lose an Industry and on heavy compensations etc.

2.  It is the public which will be the final loser. Having to pay much more for alternatives which are much more hazardous, much less durable and produced out of scarce raw materials.

3.  The Industry may get compensations etc. and thus not suffer much.

 All this may be investigated / reviewed.

Prayer : We want that such sustainable technologies Like Asbestos Cement, where compared to their alternatives (in both Industry &  products):

- Risks are very well evaluated

- Risk controls are simple and well known

- Pollution is minimal

- Are economical and ecological

- Energy is conserved

- No effluents are generated

- Technologies are simple & widely applicable

- Even the raw materials are abundantly available

- Product durability is much higher

- Manpower utilization is easy

- The products are applicable and useful for the whole world.,

need to be reviewed & encouraged instead of being misunderstood & condemned.
